- Samsung Certified Re-Newed: Samsung defines the program; it claims 100+ checks and genuine parts as needed. The European launch includes data reset, new IMEI and new packaging. Warranty follows the national program.
- Generic refurbished or renewed: the seller or refurbisher defines testing, parts and battery criteria. Record identifiers, packaging and written warranty; the label supplies no common standard.
- Open-box: the seller defines the return or opened-box condition. Verify whether refurbishment happened, which identifiers and items are supplied, and what warranty applies.

United Kingdom and Germany
The UK and German pages describe certified technicians, genuine parts, a Samsung-certified battery, latest software, unlocked phones and a two-year warranty. They list a cable, manual and SIM/ejector tool and allow minor cosmetic imperfections.
“Samsung-certified battery” does not establish the French 97% threshold for these markets. Retain the applicable battery statement and accessories list rather than importing another country’s wording.
Which software-support clock applies to Galaxy S25?
Samsung’s S25 launch policy, footnote 21 promises seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates from the global launch date. Timing may vary by model, network provider and market.
Count remaining support from that model’s original launch, not from the date a renewed handset is bought. Record the exact model, installed Android version, security patch and official policy date. Where do new-stock and cross-border assumptions fail?
Certified Re-Newed remains a distinct condition for returned devices. New packaging, a new IMEI and genuine parts used for repairs do not make every component new or guarantee perfect cosmetics.
